*Fullerton Bay Hotel

Dear Diary,

Work have been pretty busy and it was going to be D's birthday around the corner. At the same time, he was also going to be transferred to a different work location and Annual Leave will be a problem for him.

I, myself couldn't find any good dates for Annual Leave as I was busy too at work. Covid samples testing are just thousands over thousands every single shift. Until finally I found us a good date.

Day 1 - 25th August 2021

We booked a hotel with Fullerton Bay. I saw one of my colleague who did a staycation there before and boy, the hotel is so beautiful. And just opposite you can see Marina Bay Sands. We drove to Fullerton Bay since my dad was not going to use the car. The hotel came with complimentary parking.

So excited upon arrival to the parking itself. But it was a distance to walk from the parking to the hotel itself. Lol! The check-in was smooth and the staff was so friendly. No wonder it's a 5 star hotel.

We booked on weekdays and it came with a complimentary free room upgrade as well as late check-out at 6pm. There's also free breakfast buffet for two.

So anyway, when we entered our room, D was so surprised. He knew we're gonna have a staycation for his birthday and our anniversary but he didn't know I emailed the hotel to have a surprise for him for both occasion. It was really sweet that they gave us a balloon, a cake and macarons.

Again, I forgot to take pictures of the hotel because too engross with Instagram story. Haha! We spent the night at the hotel instead of going out because we paid a good $540/night for the hotel and we wanted to just STAY and not go anywhere. Haha! Well, we did use the ReDiscover Voucher from D's, so minus $100 off.

And the view at night, it's just so nice.

And of course, what is bathtubs without bath bombs right.

Day 2 - 26th August 2021

We booked breakfast at 8am. One of the earliest slot because you know how night shift have been for me. I wake up as early as 4am and will be starving. Lol! And I need food. We were also the only 2 people who came down for breakfast at that hour. Hahaha! But the breakfast was good though. The servings was also generous.

Unlike Park Royal Marina Bay, the hotel staff asked us if we wanted anything else of the menu. So we knew we can have another servings of anything else from the menu without being scared if we had to pay extras or what. Lol! And so we did ask for more servings for our breakfast for the morning. Hehe!

After breakfast, we rested for a while in our room for food to digest before heading off to the pool.

The pool view was nice. We could see Marina Bay Sands from it. They have 2 jacuzzi too, which we tried first before heading off to the big pool. There was only 2 people at that point of time. It was definitely shiok, it felt like we had the pool to ourselves. Usually, I don't really like to spend so long at the pool but here it was just so nice that I was really dragging myself to leave the pool. D had to ask me so many times if we're done and I keep telling him 10 mins for like almost 3 times. Hehe!

After swimming, we went back to the hotel and make the best out of it before we check out at 1800 hours.

View from the balcony

And of course one last bath bomb before heading home.

Bid our goodbyes to the hotel at 1800hours,

I will definitely recommend Fullerton Bay Hotel for staycation. No regrets! The staffs were all nice and we really had a pleasant stay. The only thing there was no bidet spray. Lol! Other than that, everything was really good.

And headed off for dinner at Westgate to try out Tokyo Shokudo.

Beef Ramen

If you like Ichikukodu, you'll definitely will like this too.

Till our next staycation or is it holidays now? Hehe! Since we're allowed to travel via VTL (Vaccination Travel Lane) but I guess we won't be traveling anytime soon. I shall wait for a few months at least or probably a year.

XOXO,
Azie A.

*ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay Hotel

Dear Diary,

Can't believe time travel so fast, just with a blink of eyes, 2020 was gone.

We only started going for staycations this year because 2020 we were busy adjusting to work. Well, mostly me. The company I work for decided to do Covid testing and since then my department changed. From being in Microbiology + Molecular department, shifted to Hematology, then Biochemistry, Immunology + Serology and now back to Molecular.

Yerps. Work was crazy and on 12 hours shift. From morning shift also, I took on a permanent night shift job for Covid. My body clock went haywire ever since. Haha! Never ever have it came across my mind that I would do night shift, but for the allowance and our upcoming house renovations, HECK. Sacrifice.

We headed for our first staycation. It was actually impromptu. I've been hinting for staycations but procrastination was at its best. D felt remorse over some shit and there you go, a staycation.

I have been googling for hotels to for staycation. So finding the right one wasn't as hard. I picked a few hotels and finally decided to settle for ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay, Lifestyle King Room since it's newly renovated, accessible for Halal food and also for the price, it was quite affordable. I used up my SingapoRediscover Voucher (SRV) and set off $100 on the bills and D paid for the rest.

Compared the prices between Traveloka and Trip.com. Trip.com have the cheapest option, so Trip.com it is. Hehe! Anyway, it was such an impromptu staycation, thus, we both didn't take leave from work. Lol! It was a 1 day staycation after work for me and then back again for work on the next night for me. Haha!

Day 1 - 02nd February 2021

Check-in at 3pm and it was a smooth and fast one. I was truly amazed by the garden decoration of the hotel. It's really beautiful. We were given our hotel cards by the hotel staff and we made our way to our room. And well of course, don't forget the mandatory SafeEntry check in too.

I love how just-right the size of the room is. Not too big, not too small. Most importantly, there is a bath tub. Yasss! After exploring the room, I took a 3 hours nap. I just ended my night shift. Hurhur! While D enjoyed the TV and I guess he fall asleep for a little while too.

At around 6.30pm, D woke me up to get dinner. I was planning to get dinner at the hotel but worrying it might be too pricey and shopping centers like Suntec City, Raffles City are just few minutes walk away. I googled for Halal eatery and came across this restaurant which we have never heard before and it's Halal certified. So we decided to give it a try.

Dinner at Javier's Rotisserie & Salad, Marina Square.

I never heard of this eatery before, so finding this was definitely a good thing. I didn't want to settle for places that we've been to before. And the food here, I would say affordable and choices of food, although not much, it was not bad and nice. Enough to keep us full.

After dinner, I decided to get go bath bombs & bubble bar. What are bath tubs without these. Hehe! Headed to Lush and got the Valentine's edition. Since it's February and nearing Valentine's Day, so you see a lot of Valentine's Day promotion and products around. It was worth $45 for these two. Literally burn a hole in my pocket. But then, all I did for the past few months was just eating, drinking, sleep, breath and just work work work work work work (Rihanna song). So I guess I deserve this right?

The view at night of the hotel while we were walking back.

The exterior look old, but the inside is definitely beautiful.

Bubble bar and bath bomb time,

Cute tiny heart 💛💚 shape insideee.

Come on, look how cute these are?? 😍 And the coloursssss! Baby blue and pink are just my favourite. But when it dissolves into the water, it's like I'm dissolving my $45 money into water too. HAHAHA! Anyhoo, it makes my skin smooth and moisturize.

We were given complimentary ice-cream, I had ice-cream before bed. 🙊 While D watch soccer.

Bad quality of picture. Hehe! The boat bath bomb will be for tomorrow's bath time. Hurhur!

Booked for swimming pool session tomorrow and decided to call it a night. Yes, you've got to book it online and advance.

Day 2 - 03rd February 2021

Woke up as early as 5am. Yerps! Permanent night shift have been screwing my body clock so bad. Lol! I'm always awake as early as 430am on most days. And that is when I feel the MOST hungry, because while for others it's still early to eat, for me it's like 430pm and lunch cum dinner.

I reserved breakfast at 8.30am. And I regretted it big time because by 6.30am, I couldn't tahan the hunger no longer. HAHA! I totally forget that I usually eat a full big meal at 5am on most days. So I decided to make coffee because coffee helps to suppress my hunger a little longer.

So happy it was finally breakfast time. And boy, I didn't even take pictures of our food. Insta story nowadays, makes me IG video our food and everything online without photos.

Breakfast was good and of course because of Covid-situation, you can't help yourself to the food. It was all being served to you. The only thing we wasn't sure if it was a breakfast buffet or just only any one of the choice you could choose from. They had a few options to breakfast. I chose western, while D had rice. And then when we were done, the staff didn't ask if we wanted anything else. Saaaad. So we left back to our hotel without asking if we could eat anything else. Hahahaa!

Anyway, we were also rushing for pool time because we gotta check-out by 12pm. And it was already 0930am.

We swam till 10.15am, went back to our room. Had my last bath bomb session and then check out at 12pm on the dot. It was a good staycation but I felt everything was a bit rush. Hoping the next one will be much better.

I didn't even took pictures of our room. 😪 But here are some blogs and videos you can refer to.
And I hope I've helped.

Till the next staycation.

XOXO,
Azie A.
