Honours Degree

Dear Diary,

Last sunday I head down to a school for their open house. I have been researching about the different school lately and been quite confused to choose between EASB, MDIS & PSB academy to continue my education.

After much consideration, I've decided to settle down for EASB. Reason being,

1) Only MDIS & EASB offer honours degree in their Biomedical science course while PSB don't. But PSB holds a better reputation of course.

2) EASB has the fastest route/track to a honours degree. Could be a bad thing too because I have to cramp every single thing into my head within 18 months. ='( No mercy.

3) EASB has a cheaper school fees compared to MDIS & PSB.

4) And considering honours degree between MDIS (Univesity of Bradford) & EASB (Aston University) which is both from the UK. Aston Uni has a higher ranking in the UK compared to Bradford Uni.

5) I signed up during the open house itself and got discounted rate for their course fee. =)

And I don't know how things will turn out for me since I've not been going to school for almost 3 years. Such a long break there but this is what I've been wanting to do too.

Praying for the best of everything. And with such good colleagues and understanding Manager whom I know who would help me out in everything. In shaa Allah! =)

Food for the soul.

Dear Diary,

I finally bought a laptop of my choice. Something which I have been aiming for almost a year! =)) The happy thing about it, it is in Gold in colour. Yeah!

Something which I was contemplating to get. Between the Silver ones and the Gold ones and between the Touch screen one & not the touch screen one.

And as you all know all the computers and laptops are now upgraded with this new running system call Windows 8 and the last time that I used my laptop it was only Windows XP. Can you believe for just 6 years of not buying a new laptop, I skipped 2 generations of Windows Vista as well as Windows 7!

So it takes a while into getting used to this, since Windows 8 has no start menu button and everything is rather so different. And worst, my laptop was in Bahasa Indonesia when I first bought it and I couldn't even fathom what it was saying half the time! Little things like Ok and Batalkan I could easily understand like Ok and Cancel but other than that, I almost killed myself and throw my laptop out of the window.

Talking about Bahasa Indonesia, recently I have been texting with a friend whom Malay I thought was very powderful. It was only that I realised how sucky my Malay is now. =( It took me quite sometime to reply back because I have to translate my English reply to Malay and to choose the right sentence and words to text back. I don't want to appear arrogant to be texting in English since the person texted in Malay. =( But sometimes when I couldn't really find a good translation, I bombard words in English and sometimes, I don't even know what he meant when he text. Had to asked Mama what is it all about. HAHA! Mama said it's like Chicken & Duck trying to communicate with each other. =( *Smack me somebody!

I used to be so good in Malay. So good that I've always scored distinction since Primary school be it in my papers as well as my oral. I could easily translate to people in proper Malay sentences when I speak or write and friends used to be so amazed on how I could do that. All thanks to Mama who educate me well and Allah SWT for the ability. But horrendously I can't now! How to join Ratu II?! HAHAHA!

Azie: I think I want to join Ratu ah next year. Hehe!
Mama: Ratu ke hapa. Bahasa Melayu macam apa nak join ratu. Nanti dia tanya soalan takkan nak jawab balik bahasa English.

=(

Okay back to my laptop, initially it was thought having a touch screen laptop was a bit redundant since who needs a touch screen when we have a mouse. But apparently, Windows 8 works much better if you have touch screen. You have to do a little bit more scrolling like those in iPhones which using a mouse could be laborious!

Recently, my lab was in a roll to bake!

My dispatch Fendy made us Chocolate Molten Lava Cake for the whole lab. I wasn't there to eat it since I sent Mama for her appointment at the hospital. So Fendy packed mine in a different container for me to have it the next day. So sweet!

And this was definitely the bomb! So sweet chocolatey taste! :)) He can really bake for a guy!

After which, my manager baked us Banana Muffins for the lab which I didn't get the chance to take picture of it. And it was my turn to bake. Okay, I'm always in a roll to bake, just my favourite thing to do. So I baked, Peanut Butter cupcakes instead. ;)

These are peanut butter cupcakes with Dark Chocolate frosting on it and I topped them up with Chocolate boost which I didn't take a picture of it. Hehe!

Rating was goooooood and I'm just thinking what to bake next. Maybe something simpler like Brownies with Nutella? Ahuh ahuh. :) I don't know it's just the satisfaction I get when people eat something that I bake and when they say it's nice, it's really an achievement for me. And I don't want to be selling what I bake because I'm not doing business out of it despite the expensive ingredients. I just want people to enjoy what I bake, enjoy food. HEHE!

And talking about baking, my girlfriend, Pag wants to learn how to bake a rainbow cake and despite having know how to bake, I'm going to accompany her for baking class on April 6th. This will be fun! :) Mama said I might even learn new things which I hadn't know the last time. And my colleagues & I are thinking of attending baking classes together tooooo even though they all can bake really well. Applause to Zoei, she can bake macarons okay! That's the hardest thing ever to bake!

And more food to spam!

Roti John special for $7 at Adam Road.

Mi Wanton at $3.50 at Aiman Café, Jurong.

My today's breakfast cum lunch cum dinner at KFC, Yew Tee. Hehe! Which I end up vomiting quite a bit. =(

My stomach refused to eat fooooood, a lot of food! I can only eat one meal a day and one meal a day meaning it's either soup or just one green apple. If I try to eat more than that, I'll end up vomiting. =( I don't know what is wrong with me. I feel really sad that I cannot enjoy good food. And I will be having Company's buffet dinner this coming Monday at 1 restaurant at Dhoby Ghaut. How? How to make myself eat?! =((

But on a lighter note, with all the running and exercising I have been doing. I am on my way to getting a flat stomach. Hek hek hek! Now my body are aching reallllllly bad! Till here, going to get ready for Maghrib. :)

Bye bye Laptop

Dear Diary,

When was the last time I blogged? Few months back? Exactly.

The reason being my laptop of 6 years have died on me and ever since something happened, I didn't wish to blog about anything any more. Just dampens my mood. So currently, courtesy of my little brother I've been using his laptop on and off to do simple things like updating my calendar and transferring of songs and pictures. Other than that I'm just waiting to get my own.

I was rather sad when my laptop died on me. It was my very first own laptop of course, which Mama did everything to raise the money in order to send me to a Polytechnic of my choice so that I could continue my education. My family are really not well to do definitely. And I still remember how much it cost! My laptop cost us $1.8K which you could buy for even so much better laptop now for less than 1K. ='( So never take things for granted.

My laptop holds a thousand memories for me. I brought it everywhere from toilet to school and even my first trip flying on an airplane to Aussie. For that, I am neither selling it nor throwing it away despite it being dysfunctional. But Imma still thank for my laptop for everything. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to attend school, sit for my test & exams, completed my presentations & projects (even though my laptop crash and I lose my final year project report which I had to re-do it in just 2 days). And because of being able to attend school & graduate, here I am currently working in a place that I've wanted to work badly and getting the amount of pay that is Alhamdulilah. Thank you to my Family, Mama especially for being the pillar of strength in my life, my laptop, thank you Allah S.W.T.

(This is not grammy's award.)

And with the on-going IT Fair right now... Are you thinking of what I'm thinking B1? Haha! Yes, I'm going to get my new laptop today or tomorrow. But most probably today.

Been spending so much on things lately, I've gotta start saving again. Before savings, I'm looking forward to do braces with Ying and enrolling myself back to school. Degree, here I come and bye bye Diploma. In shaa Allah! A few more KKKKKK thousands thousands to splurge on. *Deep breath!
