Dear Diary,
Can't believe time travel so fast, just with a blink of eyes, 2020 was gone.
We only started going for staycations this year because 2020 we were busy adjusting to work. Well, mostly me. The company I work for decided to do Covid testing and since then my department changed. From being in Microbiology + Molecular department, shifted to Hematology, then Biochemistry, Immunology + Serology and now back to Molecular.
Yerps. Work was crazy and on 12 hours shift. From morning shift also, I took on a permanent night shift job for Covid. My body clock went haywire ever since. Haha! Never ever have it came across my mind that I would do night shift, but for the allowance and our upcoming house renovations, HECK. Sacrifice.
We headed for our first staycation. It was actually impromptu. I've been hinting for staycations but procrastination was at its best. D felt remorse over some shit and there you go, a staycation.
I have been googling for hotels to for staycation. So finding the right one wasn't as hard. I picked a few hotels and finally decided to settle for ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay, Lifestyle King Room since it's newly renovated, accessible for Halal food and also for the price, it was quite affordable. I used up my SingapoRediscover Voucher (SRV) and set off $100 on the bills and D paid for the rest.
Compared the prices between Traveloka and Trip.com. Trip.com have the cheapest option, so Trip.com it is. Hehe! Anyway, it was such an impromptu staycation, thus, we both didn't take leave from work. Lol! It was a 1 day staycation after work for me and then back again for work on the next night for me. Haha!
Day 1 - 02nd February 2021
Check-in at 3pm and it was a smooth and fast one. I was truly amazed by the garden decoration of the hotel. It's really beautiful. We were given our hotel cards by the hotel staff and we made our way to our room. And well of course, don't forget the mandatory SafeEntry check in too.
I love how just-right the size of the room is. Not too big, not too small. Most importantly, there is a bath tub. Yasss! After exploring the room, I took a 3 hours nap. I just ended my night shift. Hurhur! While D enjoyed the TV and I guess he fall asleep for a little while too.
At around 6.30pm, D woke me up to get dinner. I was planning to get dinner at the hotel but worrying it might be too pricey and shopping centers like Suntec City, Raffles City are just few minutes walk away. I googled for Halal eatery and came across this restaurant which we have never heard before and it's Halal certified. So we decided to give it a try.
Dinner at Javier's Rotisserie & Salad, Marina Square.
I never heard of this eatery before, so finding this was definitely a good thing. I didn't want to settle for places that we've been to before. And the food here, I would say affordable and choices of food, although not much, it was not bad and nice. Enough to keep us full.
After dinner, I decided to get go bath bombs & bubble bar. What are bath tubs without these. Hehe! Headed to Lush and got the Valentine's edition. Since it's February and nearing Valentine's Day, so you see a lot of Valentine's Day promotion and products around. It was worth $45 for these two. Literally burn a hole in my pocket. But then, all I did for the past few months was just eating, drinking, sleep, breath and just work work work work work work (Rihanna song). So I guess I deserve this right?
The view at night of the hotel while we were walking back.
Bubble bar and bath bomb time,
Azie A. ♥
