Eclipse

¨°o.O (Post) O.o° 2359 hours

Just did a facial on my own. Please stop the break outs! Zzz!

And it's Eclipse here in Singapore. I'm not sure for the rest of the world though. I'm so happy that I get to see the Eclipse because it's like seriouslyyyy, Eclipse from Twilight series. Can you just imagine?! Jacob Black & Edward Cullen altogether?! Lol!

Managed to do a little bit of moon gazing with my knight and I took some pictures too.

It was said that prolonged looking at the Eclipse can cause partial or fully blind. Scary!

Okay, now come the SERIOUS part of it. I'm not sure how different religion views it but as a muslim, here is some explanation.

Eclipse in Islam,

Allah causes eclipses to happen to these two mighty signs, the sun and the moon, to teach His slaves and show them that these things are created and are subject to imperfections and changes just like any other created entities. Thus He shows them His perfect ability and that He alone is deserving of worship, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate neither to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.” (Fussilat 41:37)

During the Jaahiliyyah, people used to believe that eclipses happened to mark the birth or death of a great person, but the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) declared this belief to be false and explained the divine wisdom behind the occurrence of eclipses.

Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu’ba (R.A):

“The sun eclipsed in the life-time of Allah’s Apostle (pbuh) on the day when (his son) Ibrahim died. So the people said that the sun had eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim. Allah’s Apostle said, “The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of some-one. When you see the eclipse prays and invoke Allah.” Volume 2, Book 18, Number 153:Sahih Bukhari

Narrated Abu Musa (R.A):

The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, “These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness.” Volume 2, Book 18, Number 167:Sahih Bukhari
